The Referrals Committee, Mr Michael Sheahan (Chair), Ms Meta Osborne and Mr Anthony Byrne convened at the offices of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board on Tuesday, 7 July to consider whether Ms Una Corcoran (Trainer) was in breach of any Rules of Racing arising from a stable inspection carried out at his Training Establishment on 11 March 2026 by IHRB Officials.

On the day of the inspection, the inspection team noted seven horses were identified at the Training Establishment but were not returned in Ms Corcoran’s care.

At the Referral Hearing, the Committee considered written submissions from Ms Corcoran, including her acceptance of the breach, confirmation that steps had been taken to remedy the error and her explanation of the personal circumstances arising at the time which led to the breach.

Having considered the evidence, the Referrals Committee found Ms Corcoran in breach of Rule 148(xii) and imposed a fine of €250.

The case was presented by Ms Christine Traynor BL, IHRB Head of Racing Regulation and Integrity.
