136A Tipperary Races Claiming Race

J.A. Powell, rider of Qasbaz, trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the start of this race where stall number four of Tai Sing Yeh, ridden by W. J. Lee, appeared to open quicker than the stalls of the other runners. Evidence was heard from Mr. P. L. Malone, IHRB starter and W. J. Lee. In his evidence, the starter stated that the stalls had opened as normal but W. J. Lee's mount had dropped down and pushed the gates as they opened. He added that the stalls were tested as usual prior to racing and again after this race. W. J. Lee stated that his mount had anticipated the start when he removed the hood and he pushed the gates as they opened. Having considered all the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

136B Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med Auction Mdn

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Not Forgotten, trained by M. Halford & T. Collins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Bright Dick, trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

136C Irish EBF Median Sires Series Race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about one furlong from the finish involving Tiger Belle, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed second, and Moral Turpitude, ridden by D. McMonagle, placed third, where it appeared that Tiger Belle moved left towards the racing line of Moral Turpitude which changed leads at that point. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, D. McMonagle stated that he did not receive any interference as his mount was never near the hind part of Tiger Belle. He added that his own mount was going back out of the race at this point when running green, changing leads and getting unbalanced. R.P. Whelan stated that his mount had shifted to the left but was quickly corrected when he changed his whip hand. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jenni, trained by P. Twomey, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

W.J. Lee, rider of Jenni, trained by P. Twomey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly.

R.P. Whelan, rider of Tiger Belle, trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged left under pressure.

136D @tipperaryraces M'dn

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference about one hundred and fifty yards from the finish involving Heartrate, ridden by D.P. McDonogh, placed first, and Son Of Sampers, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed second, where it appeared that Heartrate moved slightly right and possibly made contact with Son Of Sampers. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, R.P. Whelan stated that his mount had received slight contact from Heartrate but ran on well to the line. D.P. McDonogh admitted that his mount had brushed off Son Of Sampers but felt that it was of no significance. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

136E TipperaryRacecourse.ie H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Cash Or Crypto, trained by David Marnane, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

136F Visit Tipperary H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Swelltime, trained by W.J. O'Doherty, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Way Forward, trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly right throughout this race.

J.J.G. Ryan, rider of Joven De Corazon, trained by Paul Stafford, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled during this race.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, J.A. Heffernan, rider of Swelltime, trained by W.J. O'Doherty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount disappointed in his performance, never travelled and seemed to lose interest in the latter stages of this race.

136G Racing Again On July 4th M'dn

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Milwaukee (USA), trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right in the straight.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of The Great Kingdom, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ducked left past the stands.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed S. Foley, rider of Galileo's Compass, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, S. Foley admitted that he had hit his mount on the third stride on one occasion. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that S. Foley was in breach of R10(3)(i) by using his whip without allowing his mount at least three strides to respond. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended S. Foley for four racedays.

136H Tipperary H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined El Tesoro, trained by Donnacha Aidan O'Brien, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr A. Ring, regarding the failure of J. Kearney, rider of Reinforce, placed sixth to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had erred and forgot to weigh in. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards using their powers under Rule 230, disqualified Reinforce. As a consequence, they amended the result to read as follows: Amended result: First: Autumnal Breeze, Second: So Majestic, Third: dead heat between Coco Hill and Zaza Zut, Fifth: Spirit Of Eagles. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion J. Kearney was in breach of Rule 227 and having considered his record in this regard, they suspended him for three racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee. Fran Berry accompanied J. Kearney at this enquiry.
