S.B. Kelly, rider of Mr Bernard (USA) trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly into stride .

W.J. Lee, rider of Grainne's Dream trained by W. McCreery, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran flat throughout this race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Grainne's Dream, trained by W. McCreery, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards received a report from J.R. Banahan, Turf Club Starter, in relation to the appearance that the gates failed to open when all the runners attempted to jump out of stalls after a starting button had been pressed. The starter reported that there were two starting buttons on his rostrum as the N.H starting button had not been removed for todays stalls starts and the second button was in place for these newly acquired set of stalls. He added that on realising the error that he had to use the correct button which was concealed in this situation and furthermore he ordered the person in charge of the stalls to remove the unwanted N.H. starting button immediately. Having considered the report, the Stewards informed J.R. Banahan to instruct the person in charge to ensure that the proper starting mechanism was in place for the code of racing at future meetings.

278B Trim Apprentice H'cap

The Stewards interviewed K.J. Leonard, rider of Battleroftheboyne, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were of the opinion that K.J. Leonard was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to ride in a straight line from his number 6 draw position until he had reached the marker poles and therefore suspended him for 2 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration. Eamon Sheehy accompanied K.J. Leonard at this enquiry.
