142B Come Racing Friday 11th July H'cap

The Stewards interviewed G.F. Carroll, rider of Shipyard (USA), concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Pirita, trained by D. K. Weld, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards informed Donal Kinsella, trainer that Arbitrageur, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Wind Inher Sleeves (USA), at the request of trainer, M.Halford, and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards interviewed D.M. Melia, rider of La Canaada, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(b), in that he continued to use the whip when his chance of winning or being placed had gone and having considered his record, severely cautioned him as to his future responsibilities in this regard.

The Stewards interviewed I.T. Queally, rider of Too Many Diamonds, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(b), in that he continued to use the whip when his chance of winning or being placed had gone and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.

142E Rotary Club Of Navan H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from George Kent, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Shanooan (USA), placed second, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on handicap debut in a competitive race in Naas. He added that today's better ground helped his charge return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Just Gorgeous, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

J.P. O'Brien, rider of Just Gorgeous, trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled.

The Stewards informed M.Halford, trainer that Hazledoc, would have to be recertified before being declared to run from stalls again.
