The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

W.J. Lee replaced C. O'Donoghue on Seanie, trained by David Marnane (Race 2)(unwell)
Mr.D.J. Mullins replaced Mr R.M. Cody on Icelip, trained by David M.O'Brien (Race 8)(unwell)
Mr.M.J.O'Connor replaced Ms N. Carberry on Res Ipsa Loquitur, trained by J.F. Levins (Race 8)(stewards permission)

258A Listowel Printing Works M'dn

The Stewards enquired into possible interference turning into the straight involving Lucky Pat, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed fourth, A Greater Force (FR), ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed third, Asbury Boss, ridden by S. Foley, placed first, Irish Arrow, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced and Break My Mind, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any rider, they made no alteration to the judge's placings and took no further action.

The Stewards enquired into an incident entering the back straight involving Irish Arrow, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced , Solar Focus, ridden by K.J. Manning, unplaced , Sea Adventure, ridden by K.P. Moriarty, unplaced and Zanka, ridden by E.J. McNamara, unplaced. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.

258B John & Terry Moriarty Memorial H'cap

The Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of Teeline, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.

R. Coakley, rider of Elzamay, trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount burst blood vessells in running.

258D L.M. Carey & Company H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Smoker (GB), ridden by Gary Paul Halpin, placed second, Bunreacht (USA), ridden by K.J. Manning, placed fourth, Sterling Cooper, ridden by D.W. O'Connor, placed third and Water Sprite, ridden by S. Corby, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned, in the presence of J.F.Levins, master of D.W.O'Connor. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings, however they were of the opinion that Gary Halpin was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Que Sera Sera (GB), trained by David Wachman, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

F.M. Berry, rider of Que Sera Sera (GB), trained by David Wachman, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount failed to pick up in the closing stages.

258G John J.Galvin M'dn H'dle

B.T. O'Connell, rider of Rouen Again trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount pulled up injured.

J.J. Burke, rider of Star Question trained by W.J. Burke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount pulled up lame.

A. Ring, rider of Eve's Warrior trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a respiratory noise and pulled up.
