The Stewards interviewed P.D. Deegan, trainer, in relation to a report on a national newspaper that his charge Akeed Misk, was found to be in season after her previous run at Leopardstown on May 11th. However, no such report was furnished to the Stewards on the day or the office of the governing bodies thereafter, as required under the provisions of Rule 213. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned, who stated that he was misquoted and had in fact not stated that this filly was found to be in season post race. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

C.T. Keane, rider of Darkan trained by M.J. Tynan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung in the closing stages.

The Stewards enquired into two incidents in the closing stages, the first involving Elusive Award (USA), ridden by Gary Paul Halpin, placed fourth and Via Del Corso (GB), ridden by R.P. Whelan, unplaced, where it appeared Via Del Corso ran short of room and had to check. The second incident involving Elusive Award (USA), and Gun Shot, ridden by C. P. Hoban, unplaced, where it appeared Gun Shot ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Garry Paul Halpin was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his excellent record, suspended him for one race day.
