GENERAL INFORMATION

The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting:
Mr. C. Cunningham (Chairman)
Mr. Justice T. Hunt
Mr. P. Caffrey
Mr. H. Lappin
Mr. P. Deegan.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the late arrival of one of two veterinary surgeons to be provided by the racecourse, which caused a delay to the start of the first race. Evidence was heard from Mr Sean Gamble, racecourse foreman and Mr. L. Wyer, IHRB Clerk of the Course. Mr Sean Gamble stated that the regular racecourse vet was not on duty today and his organised replacement was not aware of the earlier start time for the first race. Mr. L. Wyer stated that he was only made aware of the situation very late. The IHRB Veterinary Officer kindly agreed to provide temporary cover for the delayed veterinary surgeon and on that basis, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that racing could proceed. They referred the matter on to a senior racing official for further investigation.
