The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Lily Rock, ridden by D.N. Russell, and trained by Miss Mary Louise Hallahan. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D.N. Russell, stated that his instructions were to drop in fourth or fifth and try to get her to finish the race out, bearing in mind that she pulled up on her last start. He added that his mount jumped poorly throughout and emptied leaving the back straight. Miss Mary Louise Hallahan, confirmed the instructions and expressed her satisfaction with the ride. She added that the mare has wind problems and has been operated upon in the past. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Lily Rock was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Our Girl Naoise, ridden by J.L. Cullen, and trained by Shane Nolan. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. J.L. Cullen, stated that his instructions were to settle his mount towards the rear as she has a tendency to race freely. He added that he was happy with the mare throughout and she raced enthusiastically, showing no abnormalities. He stated the the field became strung out and he found himself further back than ideal. He concluded by accepting that he had made an error and that in hindsight he should have chased the leaders sooner, but got caught out by how the race unfolded. Shane Nolan, confirmed the instructions and expressed his satisfaction with the ride but added that he would have preferred to have seen the rider try to creep into it, at an earlier stage. He concluded by saying that the mare may be suited by a step up in trip. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Our Girl Naoise was blowing hard post race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
