252A Bright Motor Group Claiming H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the latter stages of this race involving Bal De Rio (FR), ridden by D. King, placed second, and Must Meet Cecil, ridden by C.P. Millar, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. King stated that he received intimidation from Must Meet Cecil, up the straight which he felt cost his mount forward momentum. C. P. Millar stated that he received contact from Bal De Rio, between the second last and last hurdle and in his opinion he held his line thereafter. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while interference had taken place, Must Meet Cecil had not improve his finishing position as a result of any interference caused and therefore made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action.

D. King, rider of Bal De Rio (FR), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount suffered intimidation from three furlongs out.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Jungle Prose, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be coughing post race.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident between the second last and last hurdle involving Aeros Luck, ridden by K.M. Donoghue, and Our Girl Sal, ridden by S.W. Flanagan, where it appeared both horses came together and made contact. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no riding offence had occurred and that no further action was warranted.

M.J.M O'Sullivan, rider of Spanish John, trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake after the first hurdle.

252E Panda Power (Mares) H'dle

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the latter stages of this race involving Lady Of The Vale, ridden by C.M. Quirke, placed first, and New Year Honours (GB), ridden by J.W. Kennedy, placed third, where it appeared that New Year Honours had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.W. Kennedy stated that he had enough horse to fill the gap on the approach to the last when he met with interference. C.M. Quirke stated that he was holding his line when he felt contact from behind. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Lady Of The Vale had caused interference to New Year Honours, she did not improve her finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that C.M Quirke, was in breach of Rule 214( careless riding) and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

252F1 John Purfield Memorial H'cap H'dle

The Raceday Stewards interviewed D. Moloney, rider of Sayitfirst, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he had breached the whip regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D. Moloney was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard they suspended him for nine racedays.

The Raceday Stewards reviewed the unseating of Ms. R.M.O' Grady from Royal Moon, where it appeared that Royal Moon lost his action. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
