The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

S. Coen, rider of Glittering Gem, trained by D. K. Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got unbalanced over the road crossing.

P. McGettigan, rider of Capital Theory (GB), trained by H.D. McGuigan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost action after a furlong.

J. Cleary, rider of Eastern Blue Bird, trained by P.A.Fahy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Shay's Dream, ridden by D. Browne McMonagle, and trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainers Authorised Representative. D. Browne McMonagle stated that his instructions were to get his mount to relax and finish off his race as he is a very tricky horse. He stated that they went hard and he got his mount relaxed. He added that he got a nice position and was following the fancied horses in front of him into the straight. He further stated that he was pushing hands and heels from three furlongs out and was delighted with how he ran. Damien Byrnes, Authorised Representative for Joseph Patrick O'Brien confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He added that this horse behaved badly on his last start and the main thing today was to get him settled. Evidence was also heard from the IHRB Handicapper, Mr. G. O'Gorman who stated that Shay's Dream had showed very limited form on all previous runs. The Raceday Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who reported the animal to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanations given.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer confirmed to the Raceday Stewards that Chopsticks trained by John C. McConnell was found to have blood at both nostrils post race.

W.J. Lee, rider of Spanish Temptress, trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran flat.

Richard John O'Brien, trainer of Spanish Temptress, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge was showing signs of coming into season post race. This was subsequently confirmed by the IHRB Veterinary Officer.

J. Cleary, rider of Tatianna, trained by Josh Halley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount had to take a check in the home straight.

J.A. Powell, rider of Two Brigade, trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was short of room in the home straight.

R.P. Cleary, rider of The Drambling Man, trained by Kevin Thomas Coleman, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received pressure.

P. McGettigan, rider of Woodlawn Lily, trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around in the home straight and ducked right.

G.M. Ryan, rider of Stellar Path, trained by Kieran P. Cotter, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped coming out of the stalls.

Jessica Maye, rider of Littlepacer, trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount got tight for room coming out of the stalls. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final 150 yards involving Tatianna, ridden by J. Cleary, placed sixth, Two Brigade, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced, The Drambling Man, ridden by R.P. Cleary, unplaced, Woodlawn Lily, ridden by P. McGettigan, placed fifth, and Stellar Path, ridden by G.M. Ryan, unplaced, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Cleary stated that he received pressure from his outside. G.M. Ryan stated that he had to check. J.A. Powell stated that he received pressure from his left and had to check. J. Cleary stated that he felt pressure from his outside and his mount was intimidated. P. McGettigan stated that his mount ducked right from the whip and he did everything he could to straighten it. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Woodlawn Lily had caused interference to Tatianna and as a result of this interference had improved its finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the fifth and sixth placed horses and amended the result to read as follows:

Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that P. McGettigan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) they suspended him for four racedays.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Kevin Thomas Coleman, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Sand Art, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Kevin Thomas Coleman reported that the application of first time blinkers may have contributed to the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Private Larry, trained by Alan McIntyre, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

D. Browne McMonagle, rider of Cascade Canyon, trained by Kevin Thomas Coleman, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right off the bridle.

J.A. Powell, rider of Grey Intentions, trained by Eddie & Patrick Harty, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stopped quickly.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Grey Intentions, at the request of trainer, Eddie & Patrick Harty, and reported the animal post race normal.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined God The Highness, trained by Mrs John Harrington, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Sean Davis, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Anightaway, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Sean Davis reported that the return from a break and the application of a first time tongue strap may have contributed to the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given.

J.E. Harnett, rider of Reflectionist (FR), trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped the road the second time.

A.S. Grant, rider of Young Churchill, trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't handle the ground.

A. Browne-Souza, rider of Wungudi, trained by David Kenneth Budds, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a bump from the left coming out of the stalls.

J.S. Dalton, rider of Anightaway, trained by Sean Davis, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Charlie Brow'n (FR), ridden by N.M. Crosse, and Wungudi, ridden by A. Browne-Souza where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. A. Browne-Souza stated that his mount received a slight bump from the outside but there wasn't much in it. N.M. Crosse stated that he received a slight bump. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
