Experience a Raceday through the eyes of IHRB employees and Volunteers.
The IHRB employs seven professional Stipendiary Stewards who work alongside Raceday Stewards drawn from a wider panel of approximately 140 experienced individuals. IHRB Raceday Stewards collectively provide over 1,600 days of voluntary service annually.
The IHRB has a relentless focus on the safety and well-being of our human and equine participants, our Veterinary team take in the region of 5,500 equine anti-doping samples a year, which are analysed at IHFA accredited laboratory, LGC in Newmarket. The IHRB equine anti-doping programme remains a top priority for the organisation and our approach will continue to evolve in line with international best practice.

IHRB Welfare Seminars
Through the work carried out by the IHRB Medical and Veterinary teams, the IHRB maintain a relentless focus on safety to minimise the risk of racing related injury or harm to all participants.
The IHRB played a leading role in the organisation of the International Conference for Health, Safety and Welfare of Jockeys (ICHSWJ) which took place in Hong Kong in December 2025.
