Terence O’Brien / Ballysassian – Tipperary, 29th April 2010

The Referrals Committee, Mrs. J.O. Onions (in the chair), Mrs. T.K. Cooper and Mr. C.E. O’Sullivan met in the Turf Club, The Curragh, Co. Kildare on 7th May 2010 to consider the referral of Ballysassian, trained by Terence O’Brien, following the running of the Glenview and Rathbarry Studs (C&G) Beginners Chase (Division 2) at Tipperary on 29th April 2010.  The matter was referred to the Referrals Committee by Denis Egan, Chief Executive, as it was the third time since February 2009 that Ballysassian had burst a blood vessel.

The Committee considered written evidence from Terence O’Brien who said that Ballysassian was now being sent out to grass and would not run again until at least the Spring of 2011.

Having considered the evidence the Committee noted the confirmation and took no further action.

The case was presented by Denis Egan, Chief Executive of the Turf Club.
