The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Ms. J. Walsh, that Jamie Hayes, rider of Bergentown, had presented himself to weigh out at 4 lbs overweight, none of which was declared at declaration time. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had expected to make the weight and suggested that a faulty scales at home may have been a contributary factor. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Jamie Hayes was in breach of Rule 198 and having considered his record they fined him €150 on this occasion. Furthermore, the Stewards granted a request from the trainer's representative, to substitute the nominated rider with B.P. Kennedy in accordance with the provisions of Rule 196(iv).

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Stewards that Dixon Line (GB) trained by Adrian Sexton was found to have lost both front shoes post race.

The Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages involving Donnrua Dream, ridden by K.M. Donoghue placed first and Saga Aravis (FR), ridden by R. Deegan, placed second, where it appeared that slight contact was made. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Dancing City (FR), ridden by Mr. P.W. Mullins, placed second, and Three Card Brag, ridden by Mr. H.C. Swan, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. P.W Mullins, stated that he was in front on the run to the line before receiving a bump from the winner. He further added that his mount was carried wide thereafter and felt this interference had cost him the race. Mr. H.C. Swan, stated that his mount ran green in the closing stages, but felt he was always travelling better than the runner up. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that although the winner had caused interference in the closing stages, it did not improve its finishing position and they therefore made no alteration to the Judge's placings. They were, however, satisfied that Mr. H.C. Swan was in breach of Rule 214(careless riding) and having considered his record they suspended him for one raceday.
