The Stewards received a report from Ms. J. Walsh, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Fergus Gillard, rider of Top Line Tommy, weighed in at 1.2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that this was the case and added that he had forgotten that his whip, goggles and gloves were in his hand under his saddle. Evidence was also heard from Ms. J. Walsh who disputed Fergus Gillard's evidence and stated that she was satisfied that Fergus Gillard did not have anything on the scales that he should not have. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Fergus Gillard was in breach of Rule 231, in that he weighed in heavy, and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion. Furthermore, the Stewards also found Fergus Gillard in breach of Rule 272(ii), in that they were satisfied that Fergus Gillard had given misleading evidence and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended Fergus Gillard for two racedays.

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Jet Fighter trained by C.W.J. Farrell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

The Stewards received a request from E. D. Delany, trainer of Serpolette, to substitute the nominated rider E. Walsh, with J. C. Gainford, due to E. Walsh being unwell. Evidence was heard from E. D. Delaney who stated that his charge can be difficult and J. C. Gainford knows the animal, having ridden it in work at home and he also rides for the trainer on occasion, including one later on the card. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the substitution on this occasion.

The Stewards interviewed C.P. McNamara, rider of Bear Claws, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C. P. McNamara was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered C. P. McNamara's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
