The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D. Meyler replaced J.J. Slevin on Penalty Try, trained by Steve Jones (Race 1)(Raceday Stewards permission)

143A Curraghmore Beginners S'chase

The Raceday Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the late arrival of J.J. Slevin, the declared rider of Penalty Try, necessitating a change of rider, Evidence was heard from J.J. Slevin who stated that he had been riding in France yesterday (29th May) airport and traffic delays had caused the late arrival. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanation and took no further action.

143D Walsh King Accountants (M) M'dn H'dle

The Raceday Stewards received a request from trainer Mr. C. Collins to run Call Me Rose without hind shoes. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that his charge required sedation to be shod behind. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards denied the request on this occasion and ordered the withdrawal of Call Me Rose in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 16 and Rule 18.

The Raceday Stewards received a request from trainer Mr. P. J. Healy to run Julie Liath without hind shoes. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that his charge required sedation to be shod behind. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards denied the request on this occasion and ordered the withdrawal of Julie Liath in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 16 and Rule 18.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend leaving the back straight involving Derryville, ridden by P.T. Enright, placed first and She'll Be Kept, ridden by C.P. Millar, placed third where it appeared She'll Be Kept came across Derryville. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P.T. Enright stated that things became momentarily tight. C.P. Millar stated that things became tight but that he maintained his position. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found that no further action was warranted.

143F SIS Supporting Irish Racing H'cap H'dle

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, T. Power Roche, rider of Mercury Mission (GB), trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled and did not let himself down coming down the hill. .

143G QuinnBet (Ladies Pro/Am) INH Flat Race

Due to a technical fault with the starting mechanism the Raceday Stewards granted permission for Race seven to be started by flag.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Miss C. Butler, rider of Faithful Follower, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted she was in breach of the Whip Regulation and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Miss C. Butler was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered her clean record in this regard, they suspended her for two racedays.
