The Stewards enquired into an incident approximately one furlong from the finish involving Pinkerton, ridden by S.W. Flanagan and John Cannon (GB), ridden by B.J. Cooper, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.W. Flanagan stated that he thought he was clear of John Cannon but even so felt he had left enough room. B.J. Cooper stated that he received a bump but he had plenty of room and it made no difference to the running of his horse. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise S.W. Flanagan to ride with more awareness in future.

016D BetVictor H'cap S'chase

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Fakir D'alene (FR), ridden by Mr R. James, placed first, and Donkey Years, ridden by M.P. Walsh, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. R. James stated that while his mount did lean out he felt it made no difference to the result. M.P. Walsh stated that he received a bump before the last and again received interference after the last on the run to the line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while Fakir D'alene had caused interference to Donkey Years, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that Mr. R. James, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

The Stewards interviewed Mr R. James, rider of Fakir D'alene (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he had used his whip excessively and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. R. James was in breach of R10.3g(frequency) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

The Stewards enquired into an incident just before the turn in involving Ballyshannon Rose, ridden by J.W. Kennedy, Darrens Hope, ridden by I.J. Power, Jeremys Flame, ridden by L.P. Dempsey and Minella Melody, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, where it appeared Darrens Hope got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.W. Kennedy stated that things got tight when going to the bend. I.J. Power stated that he had to snatch up when he received pressure from both sides. L.P. Dempsey felt he kept his racing line throughout the bend and didn't receive any interference. Rachael Blackmore stated that she had plenty of room to go through the gap and didn't contribute to any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action owing to inconclusive video evidence.

The Stewards interviewed J.W. Kennedy, rider of Ballyshannon Rose, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he had used his whip excessively. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that J.W.
