132D Ladbrokes 'Play 1-2-Free' H'cap H'dle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Walking On Glass, ridden by J.S. McGarvey, placed first and Whatucallher, ridden by N. Terrassin, placed second, where it appeared interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.S. McGarvey accepted that his mount drifted despite his best efforts but was of the opinion that it did not affect his finishing position. N. Terrassin stated that his mount was carried towards the railing, bumped more than once and felt the interference had cost him the race. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Walking On Glass had caused interference to Whatucallher and in doing so had improved its finishing position. The Stewards therefore reversed the judges placings. The result now reads

First: Whatucallher
Second: Walking On Glass
Third: That's Lifebuoy
Fourth. Face The Odds
Fifth: Se Mo Laoch
Sixth: Bronson In Blue

Furthermore they were satisfied that the interference was accidental in nature and took no further action.
