The Stewards enquired into possible interference at the last hurdle involving Deploy The Getaway, ridden by P. Townend, placed second, and Slip Of The Tongue, ridden by M.P. Walsh, placed first, where it appeared that interference had occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P Townend, stated that he was slightly down on the approach to the last and met with interference from the winner, which he felt had cost him momentum and the race having finished strong. M P Walsh, stated that his mount jinked left at the last hurdle causing interference to the runner up, but felt his mount was always going to win. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that while unintentional interference had occurred, they were not satisfied that the winner had improved its finishing position. The Stewards therefore made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action.

C.A. Landers, rider of Youralwaysdreamin trained by Patrick T. Foley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned left throughout this race.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Saddle Her Up, ridden by Kieran Callaghan, and trained by Barry J. Fitzgerald. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Kieran Callaghan, stated that his instructions were to drop his mount out as it can be very keen at home, to get it jumping and to do the best he could. He said his mount ran very green throughout, missed the first hurdle, lost ground when impeded by fallers at different stages in the race and hung off the home bend. Barry J. Fitzgerald, confirmed the instructions given and expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He said his charge was having its first run on the track and can be a very keen individual. He accepted that the rider could have been seen to make more of an effort, but concluding by confirming his satisfaction with the ride. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Saddle Her Up was found to have slight bilateral nasal discharge and noted a fresh wound on an old wound on the right hind coronet. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that both the rider and trainer were in breach of Rule 212A(ii) in that the animal was not seen to have been the subject of a genuine attempt to achieve a best possible placing. Having taken their respective records in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended Kieran Callaghan for 10 racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee and fined Barry J. Fitzgerald €2000. Furthermore, the Stewards suspended Saddle Her Up for a period of 42 days in accordance with the provisions of Rule 212 C(d).
