Mr. T. D. Geoghegan rode Mick Mixy (GB) (reserve), trained by Paul W. Flynn (Race 7).

166A1 Well Done To All Frontline (C&G) Mdn Hdl

R.P. Treacy, rider of Rio Storm trained by Daniel Joseph O'Leary, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having boiled over at the start.

166A2 Well Done To All Frontline (C&G) Mdn Hdl

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Haggard Lad, trained by Mrs Gillian Callaghan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard and also making an abnormal respiratory noise when examined post race.

166B Patrickswell (Mares) M'dn H'dle

Gillian Scott, trainer of Shannon Gray, reported to the Office of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board on Friday 24th July that her charge was found to have a lung infection when examined by her Veterinary surgeon after the race.

166C Adare H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Lord Lariat, trained by Karl Thornton, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

L.P. Dempsey, rider of The Tartan Spartan trained by Philip Fenton, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up lame.

The Stewards interviewed C.A. Landers, rider of Ballyegan Hero, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found C. A. Landers in breach of Regulation 10.3 (g), excessive frequency. Having considered C. A. Lander's record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.

B. Browne, rider of Lets Get Started trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having made a respiratory noise in running.

166E1 Newcastle West H'cap H'dle

The Stewards received a report from Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Starter, Mr. P. F. Graffin, that O.R. Brown, rider of Baby Sioux, had proceeded past the marker poles positioned at the start despite being instructed not to do so. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards found O. R. Brown in breach of Rule 208 (iii). Having considered O. R. Brown's record in this regard the Stewards suspended O. R. Brown for two racedays.

166E2 Newcastle West H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined James Boru, trained by Noel C. Kelly, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have pulled a left fore shoe but to be otherwise post race normal.

C.J. Orr, rider of James Boru trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled.

D.J. Mullins, rider of Cornhill Lass trained by Thomas Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped poorly.

166F Askeaton (Ladies Pro/Am) Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Miss P. Elvin, rider of Sonny John, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found Miss. P. Elvin in breach of Regulation 10, 3 (i), time to respond and 10.3(e) the hitting of the horse other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters. Having considered Miss. P. Elvin's record in this regard the Stewards suspended Miss. P. Elvin for four racedays and instructed her to attend R.A.C.E for one day of tuition on the use of the whip.
