G. Brouder, rider of Ardad Derek (GB), trained by John Joseph Hanlon, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a couple of jumping mistakes.
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, R. Deegan, rider of The Eye Of Tulla, trained by Brian M. McMahon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount met interference on landing over the first fence. The Raceday Stewards reviewed the video footage and were satisfied no further action was warranted.
131D Anglo Printers H'cap S'chaseThe IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Gustavo Goodway, trained by P.J. Rothwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
T. Power Roche, rider of Gustavo Goodway, trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Miss Evanna McCutcheon, trainer of I A Connect, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the parade ring and late arrival at the start contributing to a delay to the off time of this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer, who stated that the saddle slipped on her charge on his previous start and she spent plenty of time saddling and after checking the girth several times found herself late into the parade ring. Miss T. Quail, rider of I A Connect, confirmed that the animal can be difficult to saddle. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Miss Evanna McCutcheon was in breach of Rule 32(ii)(failure to have her charge in the parade ring a reasonable time before the signal to mount was given) and having considered her clean record in this regard, they cautioned her on this occasion. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Miss Evanna McCutcheon was in breach of Rule 205(i)(late arrival at start) and having considered her clean record in this regard, they cautioned her in this regard also.
131F Treaty Plant Hire H'cap S'chaseThe Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr P.J. O'Neill, rider of Tullyhogue Fort, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr. P.J. O'Neill was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record, they suspended him for three racedays.
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend leaving the back straight involving Person Of Interest, ridden by P. Hanlon, Meehall, ridden by P.M. O'Brien, and God Help Us, ridden by S.D. Torrens where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P. Hanlon stated that he received pressure from both sides and was forced to check. P.M. O'Brien stated that he felt he kept his racing line. S.D. Torrens stated that he felt he kept his racing line and left sufficient room for the horse inside him. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Person Of Interest, trained by John Joseph Hanlon, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Thomas P. O'Connor, trainer of Kadys Dirha reported that his charge had blood and mucus on endoscopic examination post race.
S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Zolpharine, trained by John Patrick Ryan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left.
131G Gairdin Glas H'cap S'chaseP.T. Enright, rider of Ceroc, trained by E.J. O'Grady, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped left throughout.
G. Brouder, rider of Emily In Paris, trained by D.E. Fitzgerald, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount gurgled after the winning line.
The IHRB Veterinary Officer examined Emily In Paris, trained by D.E. Fitzgerald, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race.
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr. Adam Rosario, a representative of E.J. O'Grady, trainer of Ceroc and Priory Park regarding the late arrival of the horses into the parade ring. Mr. Rosario stated that there was a delay receiving the saddle from one of the riders who rode in the race before and he had to saddle both horses. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that E.J. O'Grady was in breach of Rule 32(ii) (failure to have both animals in the parade ring a reasonable time before the signal to mount was given) and Rule 205(i) (late arrival at start) and in considering his clean records in regards to both charges they cautioned him for each offence. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards fined E.J. O'Grady €130 through his representative under the provisions of Rule 147(v) for failing to lodge the appropriate paperwork to nominate an Authorised Representative at this meeting.
