The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.D. Maxwell replaced M.P. Walsh on Perceval Legallois (FR), trained by Gavin Cromwell (Race 3)(Stood down)
S.D. Torrens replaced M.P. Walsh on Sire Du Berlais (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott (Race 4)(Stood down)

383A Savills M'dn H'dle

B.P. Kennedy, rider of Cula Bula Mamool trained by J.G.Coogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel in running and was pulled up.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Cula Bula Mamool, trained by J.G.Coogan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have blood at the nostrils post race.

J.C. Gainford, rider of Mustmeetthefarrier trained by Cian Michael Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled during this race and was puled up.

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident near the finish involving Deep Cave, ridden by Rachael Blackmore, Firm Footings, ridden by J.W. Kennedy, and Lot Of Joy, ridden by P. Townend where it appeared that the horses may have drifted and made some contact. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In her evidence, Rachael Blackmore stated that she was maintaining a straight racing line until her mount got unbalanced and went left and may have made some contact with Lot Of Joy which was edging to the right. P. Townend stated that his mount initially lay in on Firm Footings before being corrected but moved outward and glanced off Deep Cave. J.W. Kennedy stated that the finishers were inexperienced horses and he had received very little interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

At the request of the Raceday Stewards, J.J. Slevin, rider of Built By Ballymore, trained by Martin Brassil, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount started his race running keen, was taken back to settle but failed to pick up at a later stage when asked to race.

383B The lrish Daily Star Christmas Hcap Hdle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Unanswered (GB), trained by A.J.Martin, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of The Echo Boy trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount did not handle the ground and pulled up.

C.D. Maxwell, rider of She's Commanche trained by Adrian Murray, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled during this race and was pulled up.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Conor Clarke, rider of A Cheap Thrill, concerning his use of the whip during this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Conor Clarke stated that his mount was a disappointing horse and when he came off the bridle, the whip was applied to try and get a response. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Conor Clarke was in breach of R10(3)(b) by using the whip unnecessarily after it's chance of winning or being placed was clearly gone and R10(3)(h)by using the whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended Conor Clarke for one raceday.

383C Pertemps Network H'cap H'dle (Qualifier)

The Raceday Stewards interviewed L.A. McKenna, rider of Good Time Jonny, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, L.A. McKenna stated that he had initially used the whip to straighten his mount but in the latter stages he further applied the whip to try and get second placing. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that L.A. McKenna was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards cautioned L.A. McKenna on this occasion.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr R. James, rider of Eric Bloodaxe, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr R. James accepted that he had breached the whip guidelines for frequency and added that his mount was idling going to the finish. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Mr R. James was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr R. James for five racedays.

383D Jack de Bromhead Christmas H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Flooring Porter, trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Raceday Stewards interviewed D.E. Mullins, rider of Flooring Porter, trained by Gavin Cromwell, concerning his riding in the closing stages of this race where he appeared to stop riding at the fifty yard marker when racing in third place and was passed just before the line by Meet And Greet, therefore losing third place. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, D.E. Mullins stated that his mount usually hangs to the left but ran straight today until reaching the fifty yard marker where he went a little to the right. He added that he felt his mount change his stride pattern and eased off to see if he was alright before pushing him to the line when Meet And Greet joined him closer to the finish. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that D.E. Mullins was in breach of Rule 212A(iv) by failing to obtain his best possible placing. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended D.E. Mullins for five racedays and ordered that he forfeit his riding fee.

D.E. Mullins, rider of Flooring Porter trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount took a false step at the fifty yard marker.

383E Savills S'chase

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Galvin, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

383F Ballymaloe Relish Beginners S'chase

J.W. Kennedy, rider of Grand Roi (FR) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake in jumping and pulled up soon after.

P. Townend, rider of I Am Maximus (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped a little to the left in the early part of the race and jumped indifferently thereafter.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Grand Roi (FR), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
