The Stewards fined Mrs Denise Foster, trainer, €65 for failing to fit cheek pieces to Dragon's Pass, prior to entering the parade ring.

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Coral Blue, ridden by C.A. Landers, and trained by Seamus Fahey. Evidence was heard from the rider and the trainer's Authorised Representative, Mr. Shane Butler. C.A. Landers stated that his instructions were to stay on the rail in about fifth or sixth position and to try and win from the fourth last hurdle. C.A. Landers added that when he jumped off his mount got crowded and as a result did not jump well over the first two hurdles, he stayed on the rails and switched to the outside before the third last hurdle at which stage his horse started leaning left and it was difficult to ride out the finish he would have wanted. Mr. Shane Butler, confirmed the instructions given to C.A. Landers and stated that he was not satisfied with the running of his charge as he expected to win. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who reported that Coral Blue was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.

C.A. Landers, rider of Coral Blue trained by Seamus Fahey, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned out on the turn in.

The Stewards interviewed S.F. O'Keeffe, rider of Blaze A Trail, trained by Miss Elizabeth Doyle, concerning his riding in this race where it appeared that he stopped riding before the finishing line and subsequently lost sixth place. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed the recording and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that S.F. O'Keefe was in breach of Rule 212 A (iv), in that he eased his mount without good reason before the finishing line and having considered his record in this regard suspended him for 2 racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee.
