085A Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the run to the first bend involving Saint Brandon, ridden by W.M. Lordan, placed first, Mathan, ridden by D. McMonagle, placed second, Monotone, ridden by R. Coakley, placed third, Ethical Code (USA), ridden by C.T. Keane, placed sixth, and Shiota, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed fourth, where it appeared an incident may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. McMonagle stated that he switched off the heels of the leader and his mount over-reacted forcing him to bump horses on his outside. R. Coakley stated that he anticipated the leader crossing to the rail and took a check. C.T. Keane stated that he got a small bump from his inside. G.F. Carroll stated that he received a small bump from his inside. W.M. Lordan stated that his mount broke well and was clear of the horse inside him as he crossed to the rail but his mount slowed into the bend causing congestion behind. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.

W.M. Lordan, rider of Saint Brandon, trained by Natalia Lupini, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right in the final furlong.

G.F. Carroll, rider of Shiota, trained by Joseph G. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right in the home straight and he used his whip in the forehand position down the shoulder for correctional purposes.
