The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

R.P. Cleary replaced K.J. Manning on Purple Gown, trained by J. S. Bolger (Race 5)(Stewards permission)
M.A. Enright replaced K.J. Manning on Fenomeno, trained by Charles Weld (Race 7)(Stewards permission)
L.T. McAteer replaced K.J. Manning on Insulate, trained by J. S. Bolger (Race 8)(Stewards permission)
C.D. Hayes replaced A.J. Slattery on Zebos Beanos, trained by D.McNamara (Race 8)(Stood down)

The Stewards reviewed an incident on the uphill run approaching the straight involving Takeachancejimmy, ridden by R.C. Colgan, Turbulence, ridden by S. Foley, Starting Monday, ridden by W.J. Lee and Just Jacob, ridden by G.F. Carroll where it appeared that Takeachancejimmy momentarily checked. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.

S. Foley, rider of Coolcalmncollected (GB) trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered after leaving the starting stalls.

B.M. Coen, rider of Malacanne trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was hampered after leaving the starting stalls.

G.M. Ryan, rider of Rhythm King trained by Mark Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right into the straight.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of Tic Tac Toe trained by Ray Hackett, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged left into the straight.

The Stewards enquired into an incident before the marker poles involving Coolcalmncollected (GB), ridden by S. Foley, Malacanne, ridden by B.M. Coen, Allesnick, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Summer Snow, ridden by J.A. Powell where it appeared that Coolcalmncollected and Malacanne met with interference. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, S. Foley stated that his mount jumped to the left out of the starting stalls and he got tightened in a chain effect of movement. B.M. Coen stated that his mount jumped slowly from the starting stalls and got hampered from both sides. C.D. Hayes stated that he was on the outside of Coolcalmncollected when tightened for room. G.F. Carroll stated that his mount jumped to the left out of the starting stalls before being corrected. J.A. Powell stated that his mount jumped quick from the starting stalls and maintained a straight racing line without being involved in any interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental in nature, and they took no further action.

332D Corrib Food Products M'dn

C.D. Hayes, rider of San Pablo trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped left out of the starting stalls.

The Stewards enquired into an incident at the marker poles involving Jackandthefox, ridden by Adam Caffrey, Strategically, ridden by R.C. Colgan, Teddy O'Neill, ridden by R.P. Cleary, and Vocal Studies, ridden by K.J. Manning where it appeared that Vocal Studies checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence K.J. Manning stated that his mount received pressure from his inside. Adam Caffrey stated that his mount received pressure from both sides. R.C. Colgan stated that his mount was maintaining a straight racing line when receiving pressure from both sides. R.P. Cleary stated that the pressure came from his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental in nature, and they took no further action.

332G1 Galway Races Summer Festival 2023 H'cap

M.A. Enright, rider of Fenomeno trained by Charles Weld, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stumbled on leaving the starting stalls.

At the request of the Stewards, C.T. Keane, rider of Fair Damsel, trained by Richard Brabazon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount did not handle the track.

J.A. Powell, rider of Bayou Belle trained by Jarlath P.Fahey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

The Stewards interviewed J.A. Heffernan, rider of No Hassle, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, J.A. Heffernan admitted that he had breached the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.A. Heffernan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and R10(3)(i) by failing to give his mount at least three strides to respond. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.A. Heffernan for four racedays.

332G2 Galway Races Summer Festival 2023 H'cap

At the request of the Stewards, G.P. Halpin, rider of Ellaat (GB), trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never picked up in the heavy ground conditions.

J.A. Powell, rider of Annie Regrets trained by Peter McCreery, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout this race.
