203E Connacht Hotel (QR) H'capThe Stewards enquired into an incident on the uphill run before the turn into the straight involving Arctic Fire (GER), ridden by Mr J.C. Barry, unplaced, Baba Boom, ridden by Mr D. O'Connor, placed sixth, Rovetta (FR), ridden by Mr F. Maguire, unplaced, Legal Spin, ridden by Mr P.W. Mullins, unplaced and Chess Grand Master (GB), ridden by Mr N. Bashford, unplaced, where it appeared that Arctic Fire (GER) stumbled and Chess Grand Master (GB) collided with him. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame to any rider and took no action.
The Stewards requested a report from W.P. Mullins, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Great White Shark (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent run. W.P. Mullins reported that his charge had disappointed the last day at Down Royal 31st May and was given a break to freshen up. He felt that this was the contributing factor for today's improved run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
Mr J.C. Barry, rider of Arctic Fire (GER) trained by Denis W. Cullen, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount clipped a heel and stumbled badly on the approach to the straight.
203F Eventus H'capThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ideal Pal, trained by Michael Mulvany, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
The Stewards enquired into possible interference on the entrance to the straight involving Millswyn, ridden by D. O'Brien, placed second, A Wave Of The Sea, ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed fourth and Red Gerry, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed third, where it appeared that Red Gerry ran short of room when challenging between horses. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S.M. Crosse gave his evidence in the presence of Brendan Powell. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.
203G Monami Construction INH Flat RaceThe Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Think Positive, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a right hind shoe but was otherwise post race normal.
The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Russian Diamond, ridden by Mr D. O'Connor, placed first and Risk Factor, ridden by Mr T. Hamilton, placed second, where it appeared that Russian Diamond drifted towards Risk Factor. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judges placings and took no further action.
