The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. D. Maher, that D.N. Curran, rider of Cornish Rock, had presented himself at scales to weigh out at 2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had forgotten to inform his agent that his weight had increased a little during the winter months. Kieran P. Cotter, trainer of Cornish Rock, expressed his willingness to allow the rider to carry 2 lbs overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.N. Curran €150 on this occasion. In accordance with Rule 198 (vii), the Stewards allowed D.N. Curran to ride Cornish Rock at 2 lbs overweight.

The Stewards interviewed D.N. Curran, rider of Stop On Red, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence D.N. Curran accepted that he had used his whip with his arm above shoulder height and stated that he was trying too hard.
