The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Clueless Hill, ridden by C.D. Hayes and Bella Coaster, ridden by A.C. Persse, where it appeared Bella Coaster drifted left across Clueless Hill. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.D. Hayes, stated that his mount normally wears head gear which were left off today and that his mount received slight pressure from his outside, but felt the strong cross wind was a contributing factor. A.C. Persse, stated that his mount travelled well into the straight, but drifted left when under pressure and was not helped by a strong cross wind. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference which occurred was accidental and they took no further action, other than to advise A.C. Persse to make more of an effort to keep his mount straight in future.
