A.J. Slattery, rider of Breach (GB) trained by J.Halley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got upset in stalls and was outpaced through the early stages of the race.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Slade Runner trained by Kieran P. Cotter, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped left from the stalls.

Ciara Flynn, rider of Artistic Rhythm trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount leaned left in the straight.

D. McMonagle, rider of Mymacushla trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the straight.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Dark Street trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from the stalls.

The Stewards enquired into an incident early in the straight involving Florence Thompson, ridden by D. King and Tai Sing Yeh, ridden by C.T. Keane, where it appeared Florence Thompson made contact with Tai Sing Yeh. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. King stated that at the time he felt there was sufficient room for him to go for the gap however upon reviewing it, he accepted that he had misjudged his run. C.T. Keane stated that he received a bump and his mount lost its backend for a stride. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found D. King was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended him for 3 racedays. Ms Elaine O'Farrell accompanied D. King at this enquiry.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Linus Larrabee trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

Sam Ewing, rider of Here And Now (GB) trained by James McAuley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly left throughout.

C.D. Hayes, rider of No Trouble trained by John C. McConnell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced keenly down the backstraight.

S.P. Davis, rider of Captain Cooper trained by Richard John O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount fly leapt from the stalls and raced keen.

050E Dundalk Winter Series Apprentice H'cap

Jessica O'Gorman, rider of Miss Cunning trained by Aengus King, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount momentarily went right after leaving the stalls.

The Stewards interviewed Sarah Verling, rider of Matilda With Me, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that she was in breach of Regulation 10 and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Sarah Verling was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered her record they cautioned her on this occasion.

S.T. McCullagh, rider of Munfallet trained by D P Coakley, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount received a bump when coming out of stalls.

The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Drakensberg, trained by A.J.Martin, placed first, compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned and also from The Senior Rules Of Racing Handicapper Garry O'Gorman. Garry O'Gorman outlined the horses form, stating that Drakensberg had run to a mark of 75 at the backend of last season. After a 7 month lay off and numerous poor runs he was now running off a mark of 60 and he rated the improvement somewhere in the region of over a stone. A.J. Martin stated that his horses had been under a cloud recently, but appeared to have turned a corner with some of the other horses in his yard running back to form. With regard to Drakensberg, he added that he had been working well in the last 14 days, which he relayed to the owners and expected his charge to perform better than his recent runs. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanations offered.

The Stewards fined Mrs Caroline McCaldin, trainer €65 for failing to fit a tongue strap to Ballymist prior to entering the ring.

050H Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk H'cap

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Godhead (GB), ridden by Siobhan Rutledge, Elzaam Blue, ridden by C.D. Hayes, and Adapt To Dan, ridden by J. Kearney, where it appeared some interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Siobhan Rutledge stated that her horse received interference from her right causing her horse to make contact with Elzaam Blue. C.D. Hayes stated that he received minimal contact from his right. J. Kearney stated that his mount rolled around when coming under pressure but he corrected it straight away. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advise J. Kearney to ride with more care in future. Ian Kearney accompanied J. Kearney at this enquiry.

The Stewards interviewed C. Horgan, rider of Dedillon, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who accepted that he was in breach of Rule 211. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C. Horgan was in breach of Rule 211(a) in that he had failed to ride in a straight line until reaching the marker poles. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended C. Horgan for 1 raceday.
