243A Allied Bakeries 3-Y-O M'dn H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Global Freedom (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

243C Hovis H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Blackyellowred, trained by D.J.Barry, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. D.J. Barry, trainer, subsequently reported to the IHRB Veterinary Officer that his charge was found to have kickback in his trachea following endoscopic examination .

J.S. McGarvey, rider of Rising trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was pulled up having lost his action.

The Stewards interviewed J.B. Kane, rider of Important Message (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that J.B. Kane was in breach of R10(3)(h) by using his whip with his arm above shoulder height. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended J.B. Kane for 2 racedays.

243E Linden Foods H'dle

D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Doctor Duffy, trained by C.Byrnes, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount cocked his jaw and ran out through the rail at the second hurdle.

243F Kerry Foods H'cap H'dle

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Mr Jacaranda, trained by A.J.Martin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

243G Tayto Group Ltd. (Mares) INH Flat Race

The Stewards fined John W. Nicholson, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Annual Flavour, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Annual Flavour in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

The Stewards interviewed Mr F. Maguire, rider of Jelona, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr F. Maguire was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr F. Maguire for 2 racedays.

The Stewards interviewed Miss P. Elvin, rider of Snegurochka, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Miss P. Elvin was in breach of R10(3)(i) by using her whip without allowing her mount at least three strides to respond. Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Miss P. Elvin for 1 raceday and also instructed her to attend R.A.C.E for 1 days tuition on the correct use of the whip.
