The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

C.J. Orr replaced D.J. McInerney on Balinaboola Steel, trained by John Joseph Hanlon (Race 5)(injured)

158A Irish Stallion Farms EBF (M) M'dn H'dle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference after jumping the second last involving Happy D'ex (FR), ridden by Corey McGivern, who fell, North Of Nashville, ridden by C.P. McNamara, placed third, Still Ciel, ridden by C. Brassil, who fell, and Sula Warrior, ridden by E. Walsh, placed second, where it appeared Happy D'ex ran short of room and fell on the flat bringing down Still Ciel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Corey McGivern stated that he got pressure from both sides causing him to clip a heel and come down. C.P. McNamara stated that he was keeping a straight line and wasn't aware of the horse on his inner. C. Brassil stated that he was behind the action and got brought down by Happy D'ex. E. Walsh stated he was on the inner and did not deviate from his line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that while North Of Nashville had caused interference, he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that C.P. McNamara, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended him for 3 racedays.

The Stewards interviewed C. Brassil, rider of Gateau De Miel (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of Regulation 10. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that C. Brassil was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record they suspended him for 2 racedays.

The Stewards enquired into why Gateau De Miel, ridden by C. Brassil and Sovereign Gold, ridden by C.G. O'Dwyer, both trained by H. De Bromhead appeared in the parade ring carrying the incorrect saddles prior to the running of this race. Both riders were weighed out again and the horses then saddled correctly. At the enquiry which took place after the race Ms. Zoe Smalley, Authorised representative for H. De Bromhead, accepted responsibility stating it was down to human error and apologised for the mistake. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that H. de Bromhead was in breach of Rule 148(i) through the actions of his Authorised representative and having considered his record in this regard they fined him €500.
