The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

M.D. O'Callaghan, trainer of Admiral D (Off feed) - €200
D.J. Bunyan, trainer of Seven Worlds (Off feed) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

R.P. Whelan replaced N.G. McCullagh on Finans Bay, trained by M.Halford (Race 4)(Intended mount was a non runner)
D. McMonagle replaced T.P. Madden on O'Reilly (FR), trained by Mrs John Harrington (Race 4)(Injured)

229A Finlay Volvo Curragh Stakes

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Strapped, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

K.J. Manning, rider of Strapped trained by J. S. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount missed the kick.

D.P. McDonogh, rider of Zebelle (GB) trained by George Boughey (in GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped left out of the starting stalls.

229B Mongey Communications H'cap

C.T. Keane, rider of Strong Johnson trained by J.H. Scott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lugged left under pressure.

C.D. Hayes, rider of Tide Of Time (GB) trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room for a stride late on in this race.

The Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final furlong involving Strong Johnson, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed first, Livingston Range, ridden by N.G. McCullagh, placed sixth and Tide Of Time (GB), ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed fifth, where it appeared that Strong Johnson edged left over a number of strides which resulted in Tide Of Time (GB) momentarily being tight for room. Having reviewed the recording of that part of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no action was warranted.

229C Fitzdares Royal Whip Stakes

S.M. Crosse, rider of Broad Street (GB) trained by Luke Comer, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost his action turning into the straight.

229E Comer Group Irish St Leger Trial Stakes

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Wordsworth, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Twilight Payment, placed first, as compared with its recent run in the Ascot Gold Cup on the 17th June over two miles and four furlongs. Brendan Powell, Authorised representative for Joseph Patrick O'Brien reported that their charge appreciated today's ground conditions and the lesser trip of one mile six furlongs. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

229F DMG Media M'dn

G.M. Ryan, rider of Doctor Brown Bear trained by Brendan W.Duke, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount caught a heel after going about a furlong.

S.M. Crosse, rider of Witham River trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned right inside the final furlong.

The Stewards reviewed an incident inside the final 150 yards involving Rayadiyr, ridden by R.P. Whelan, unplaced , Witham River, ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed second and Summit Star, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed fourth, where it appeared that Rayadiyr was tight for room between horses without being impeded. Having reviewed the recording of that part of the race and considered the matter, the Stewards were satisfied that no action was warranted.

229G Derek O'Sullivan Mem. Apprentice H'cap

As a result of a successful claim from Gowran Park on August 11th, The Directors of the IHRB have approved that Howling Wolf could participate in this race, trained by S.M. Duffy and owned by John M. Keogh.

A.M. Glynn, rider of Shona Mea trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was short of room near the finish.

A.J. Slattery, rider of Tyrion's Dream trained by Aidan Anthony Howard, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was slowly away from the starting stalls.

The Stewards interviewed Sam Ewing, rider of Reverberation (GB), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and in the presence of Mr George Murphy. In his evidence, Sam Ewing stated that he was racing on the outside and his mount began to lug in. He apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Sam Ewing was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned Sam Ewing on this occasion.

229H TRI Equestrian H'cap

L.T. McAteer, rider of No Speed Limit (FR) trained by Patrick J. McKenna, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right throughout this race.

J.M. Sheridan, rider of King's View trained by Patrick J. McKenna, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got stopped in his run two furlongs out by meeting tired horses coming back.
