The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Scalino, ridden by M.P. Fogarty, and trained by Anthony Mullins. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. M.P. Fogarty, stated that his instructions were to drop his mount out, get it to settle and to do the best he could. He said his mount had run very keen on its previous run and had fallen prior to that on its other run for the yard and that this was to the forefront of his instructions. He stated that he was happy to sit off a very fast early pace which helped the animal to settle and jump. He further added that his mount has a very high head carriage which made him look like he was travelling better than he was in the closing stages. Anthony Mullins, confirmed the instructions given and he expressed his satisfaction with the ride. He stated that Scalino was in his care for about six weeks and had ran twice prior to today. He said the animal was a very difficult individual that had run very free previously and expressed his delight that the animal appeared to settle much better today. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Scalino was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered by A. Mullins and advised M.P. Fogarty to be seen to make more of an effort in the closing stages in future.

Mullins, placed third and Well Set Up, ridden by R.A. Doyle, placed first, where it appeared that interference occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.
