The Stewards fined the following trainers in respect of their non-runners:-

D.J. Bunyan, trainer of Snow Patch (Off feed) - €200
Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer of Zofar Zogood (Going - reason not accepted) - €200.

247A CorkRacecourse.ie Nursery H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined One Smart Cookie, trained by Aidan F. Fogarty, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

247B Mallow M'dn

The Stewards fined K.J. Condon, trainer, €65 for failing to fit a tongue tie to Grey Streak, prior to entering the parade ring.

M.A. Gallagher, rider of Midnight Fire trained by Edward P.Harty, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount rolled around a little when it hit the front and was a bit green.

The Stewards requested a report from M. Halford, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Balmari, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Nikica Jenjic, Authorised Representative for M. Halford stated that Balmari did not handle the slow surface at Dundalk on its most recent run and that the better ground today coupled with a drop in trip had helped to bring about the improvement in form compared to its recent runs. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

247C Irish Stallion Farms EBF (Fillies) H'cap

The Stewards interviewed A.J. Farragher, rider of A Step Too Far, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found A. J. Farragher in breach of Regulation 10.3.(g), excessive frequency. Having considered A. J. Farraghers record in this regard the Stewards suspended A. J. Farragher for two racedays.

247D Fermoy H'cap

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Glow Worm, trained by Jack W. Davison, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

247E Watergrasshill Median Auction M'dn

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Yarrawonga, trained by A.P.O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically abnormal post race.

247F Mitchelstown H'cap

The Stewards requested a report from J. S. Bolger, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Mccabe, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ger Flynn, Authorised Representative for J. S. Bolger, stated that today was the first time that his charge had jumped smartly and subsequently got things his own way in front and that this, coupled with the much better ground today, had helped to bring about the improvement in form when compared to its most recent runs. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation given.

M.A. Gallagher, rider of David Garrick trained by Edward P.Harty, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount travelled well but felt flat when asked to quicken.

247G2 Racing Again September 29th H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Cois Sionna, ridden by E.J. McNamara, placed fourth, Getaway Queen, ridden by C.P. Hoban, unplaced and Prime Chief, ridden by Sam Ewing, unplaced, where it appeared that Getaway Queen got tight for room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards gave Sam Ewing the benefit of doubt on this occasion and took no further action other than to advise him to ride with more awareness in the future. Sam Ewing was accompanied by Ger Flynn at this enquiry.

James J. Doyle, rider of Still Alive (GB) trained by A.J. McNamara, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight turning into the straight.
