239A Awards And Gifts Claiming M'dn

John G. Carr, trainer of Ivaldi (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge showed signs of being in season prior to the running of this race

A.J. Slattery, rider of Triple Nickle trained by J.A.Stack, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left for the final two furlongs.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the straight involving Rehoboth Beach (USA), ridden by D. O'Brien, Small Town Boy, ridden by T.P. Madden, Triple Nickle, ridden by A.J. Slattery, and Cherryville, ridden by C.T. Keane, where it appeared Cherryville suffered interference on the outer. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards considered that the incident was caused by accidental interference and took no further action.

Mr. William Flood, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

239B Foran Equine Irish EBF Auction M'dn

The Stewards received a report from the Irish Horse Racing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, that Sea Breezer, trained by Patrick Martin was found to be a gelding and not a colt as shown on the passport presented. Having considered the report, the Stewards fined Patrick Martin €130 in accordance with the provisions of Rule 148(vi).

D. O'Brien, rider of Potala Palace (GB) trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount moved badly in the straight.

M.A. Gallagher, rider of Sea Breezer trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount weakened badly in the straight.

239C1 P&M Green Energy Cottages H'cap

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Kody Ridge, ridden by R. Coakley, Turf Range, ridden by A.C. Persse, Boughtinthedark, ridden by James J. Doyle, and Clifftop (GB), ridden by C.G. O'Dwyer, placed Place, where it appeared Boughtinthedark ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C.G. O'Dwyer gave his evidence in the presence of H.Rogers. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found A.C. Persse in breach of Rule 214 through careless riding and having taken his record into account cautioned him.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Guiding, trained by Shane Nolan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

239C2 P&M Green Energy Cottages H'cap

C.G. O'Dwyer, rider of Ollie Bang, trained by H.Rogers, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount's saddle slipped, lost his irons and unseated in the straight.

M.A. Gallagher, rider of Ebony Belle trained by Patrick Martin, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled.

239D Phil Kierans Memorial M'dn

The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Phase After Phase, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. B. Powell, Authorised Representative, reported that the trainer was advised by the rider at the Curragh to apply cheek pieces in future. This combined with a return to better going today may have led to an apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Take My Hand, trained by Michael Mulvany, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slowly away.

239E Holcroft Motors Drogheda Hill Sprint Hcp

The Stewards fined J.H. Scott, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Amaretto Stone, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Amaretto Stone in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90.

The Stewards requested a report from T.G.McCourt, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of My Good Brother, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that this is a horse that has had joint issues in the past. They had been considering retiring him but decided to bring him back to get him ready for Laytown where he has run well in the past. He stated that this horse was highly rated in the past and felt that perhaps the break may have freshened him up today and brought about a return to form. Having considered the report the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

S. Foley, rider of Ty Rock Brandy trained by Miss Natalia Lupini, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right in the last two furlongs.
