The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

E.J. McNamara rode Full Shilling (reserve) , trained by Dermot Anthony McLoughlin (Race 6)
P.J. Smullen rode Consonance (reserve) , trained by Joseph G. Murphy (Race 6)

210B Kilfrush Stud Abergwaun Stakes

C.T. Keane, rider of Speed Hawk (USA), trained by Robert Cowell (in GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was forced to check for a stride about 200 yards from the finish.

210C Connolly's RED MILLS H'cap

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Great Wide Open, trained by Charles O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

210D Coolmore Canford Cliffs Stakes

The Stewards interviewed G.F. Carroll, rider of Play The Game, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found G.F. Carroll in breach of Reg 10 3. (f) by using his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account suspended him for one race day.

210E Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med.Auct.(F)Mdn

The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Bridgets Fable, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed first, Santa Monica (GB), ridden by F.M. Berry, placed fourth, Simannka, ridden by P.J. Smullen, placed second and Special Focus, ridden by K.J. Manning, placed third, where it appeared Special Focus received interference from the inside and was forced to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action. Mr. Edward Irwin, Acting Steward, absented himself from this enquiry.

210F1 Dan Dooley Ford Centre H'cap

C. O'Donoghue, rider of Pontificate, trained by John Joseph Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount moved poorly throughout.

210F2 Dan Dooley Ford Centre H'cap

C.D. Hayes, rider of Tamisa, trained by John J. Walsh, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount received accidental interference approximately one furlong from home.

210G Toomey's Applegreen Station (Ladies) Hcp

The Stewards wished to interview Miss J.M. Mangan, rider of Ri An Domhnaigh, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race, under Reg 10 3.(e). As the rider was unavailable to attend the enquiry having become involved in schooling a horse after racing contrary to Rule 229 (v) the Stewards referred the matter to the Chief Executive under Rule 14 (b).
