The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Elusive Rebeldom, trained by Gordon Elliott,(withdrawn at the start) at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to show no signs of abnormality.

The Stewards interviewed D.N. Russell, rider, in relation to the fact that having completed a circuit of the track prior to the start of this race race, he proceeded to return to the parade ring. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that his mount cocked his jaw and ran away with him leaving the parade ring and subsequently galloped a full lap of the track before he was able to regain control. D.N. Russell, having spoken to the Clerk of the Course, understood that it was in order to return to the parade ring as he felt that the horse would be unable to do himself justice. He understood that this information was forwarded to the starter so as the horse could be withdrawn, but accepted that this did not happen and Elusive Rebeldom was subsequently withdrawn by the Stewards.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action on this occasion other than to advise D. N Russell of his responsibilities to follow the correct procedures in future.
