The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

I.J. Power rode Caroles Secret (reserve) , trained by John Patrick Ryan (Race 2)

354D Irish Racing Industry Fundraiser Hcp Hdl

C.P. McNamara, rider of Demophon (GB) trained by Gavin Cromwell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount gurgled in running.

354F John Thomas McNamara Series (QR) Hcp Hdl

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Oneknightmoreihope, ridden by Mr L.P. Gilligan, and trained by N.F. Glynn. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Mr. Gilligan, stated that his instructions were to hang onto him as long as he could as he's a horse that finds nothing off the bridle. He stated that his mount was a bit keen early but jumped well, after the third last he filled him up and nursed him for as long as he could. He stated that had he gone for his horse earlier he'd have pulled himself up. N.F. Glynn, Trainer, confirmed the instructions and expressed his satisfaction with the ride given. He stated that he instructed the rider to hold onto the horse for as long as he could as the horse needs coaxing. He said he was delighted with the ride given and it was the very same as the one given at Fairyhouse. He stated that the horse just runs on and runs on but was never going to catch the winner on either day. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer which stated that Oneknightmoreihope was post race normal. Samples were taken for analysis. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards taking into account the circumstances of what occurred and the explanations given by Mr. Glynn were not satisfied that Mr. Glynn was in breach of Rule 212 and they noted his explanation. They were however of the opinion that Mr L.P. Gilligan was in breach of Rule 212 A(ii) in that the horse was not seen to be the subject of timely real and substantial effort to achieve its best possible placing and that the rider had not been seen to make the efforts required by this sub-rule and suspended him for 10 race days.

354G Irish EBF (M) (Ladies P-A) INH Flat Race

The Stewards interviewed Miss S. Larkin, rider of Blue Hen, concerning her use of the whip in closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Miss S. Larkin was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered her record they suspended her for 3 racedays.
