The Stewards requested a report from Denis Gerard Hogan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Zekarya (FR), placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge disappointed on his last chase start, when making some ground from the rear, having been held up off the pace. He added that today's change in tactics by riding the horse more prominently, helped his charge return to form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanations.

Watson, rider of He Knows My Name, requested to be weighed out at two pounds overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned in the presence of R.K.Watson, trainer . Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request, however they were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Rule 195, having failed to declare overweight and having considered his record, fined him €150.

The Stewards fined V.C.Ward, trainer, €130 for lodging a passport in respect of Ferrestown Lady, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards interviewed Mr D.J. O'Leary, rider of Ferrestown Lady, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10 3(b), in that he continued to use the whip when his chance had clearly gone and having considered his record, suspended him for two race days.
