Ms. M.M. Gannon, trainer of Dantes King (Passport irregularity) - €350

034A Winning Fair Juvenile H'dle

The Stewards enquired into possible interference between the last two hurdles involving Ex Patriot, ridden by D.N. Russell, placed first and Dinaria Des Obeaux (FR), ridden by B.J. Cooper, placed second, where it appeared that Dinaria Des Obeaux (FR) was left short of room on the inside of Ex Patriot and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that interference had taken place and on the balance of probabilities that Ex Patriot had improved his placing over Dinaria Des Obeaux (FR) and consequently ordered that the placings be reversed with the result now to read; First - Dinaria Des Obeaux (FR), Second - Ex Patriot, Third - Landofhopeandglory, Fourth - Mengli Khan, Fifth - Sword Fighter and Sixth - Amaulino (FR). The Stewards did not take any further action.

The Stewards requested a report from Francis J. Flood, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Peace N' Milan, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Francis J. Flood reported that this mare had shown her best form on heavy ground and her previous run on soft to heavy ground at Down Royal was not deep enough for her. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Golden Flowerpower, trained by Colin Bowe, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

034E Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners S'ch

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Pyromaniac, ridden by D.F. O'Regan, and trained by A.J.Martin. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. D.F. O'Regan, rider, stated that he was instructed to take his time, get cover, ride a race and to do his best. In running he was aware that three of the runners would go a strong pace and he rode off the pace leading the remainder of the runners. He added that his stable companion fell at Ballyhack and from that point he was in third place and tried to get closer. As the pace had been strong from the start he expected the leaders to come back to him but in turn his own mount emptied and he did not use the whip as there was no point . A.J.Martin, trainer, confirmed the instructions and described his charge as one that flatters to deceive. He felt that he did not get the two miles one furlong on today's heavy ground and in general possibly just gets two miles. He added that he thought his charge was gradually closing on the two leaders before the home turn but in the end had run as good as he was. The Stewards also received a report from the Turf Club Veterinary Officer who stated that Pyromaniac was post race normal. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations but advised D.F. O'Regan that he must be seen to be riding in accordance with the new provisions to Rule 212(A)(ii).
