The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

D. McMonagle rode Chevillon (reserve), trained by Edward Lynam (Race 3).
D.W. O'Connor replaced S.B. Kelly on Curly Girl, trained by C.P.Donoghue (Race 5)(injured)

296A Ir.injuredjockeys App'tice Claiming Race

The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Gee Rex, placed first, as compared with its most recent form. Damien Boyne, authorised representative for the trainer, reported that his charge appeared to appreciate the better ground conditions and felt this had helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Stewards interviewed S.T. McCullagh, rider of Moving Forward, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S.T. McCullagh was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion.

P.A. Harnett, rider of Estepona Sun (GB) trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount gurgled in running.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Estepona Sun (GB), trained by Noel C. Kelly, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

N.M. Crosse, rider of Garrison Commander trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran a bit short of room inside the last half a furlong.

C.G. O'Dwyer, rider of Secret Wizard trained by Conor O'Dwyer, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung right throughout.

The Stewards using their powers under Rule 10, granted permission for a 10 minute extension to the claim time for this race owing to technical difficulties.

S. Foley, rider of Baron Wild trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount leaned left early and leaned right in the straight.

296D1 HOLLYWOODBETS H'cap

D.W. O'Connor, rider of Burning Lake trained by J.F. Levins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung very badly.

C.T. Keane, rider of Everyhouronthehour trained by W. Ross, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount reared as the stalls opened.

296G DundalkStadium.com M'dn

The Stewards enquired into an incident before the first bend involving Wishbone, ridden by R.C. Colgan, unplaced, Power Over Me, ridden by B.M. Coen, unplaced and Just My Type (GB), ridden by D.W. O'Connor, unplaced, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards accepted the explanations offered and took no further action.

W.J. Lee, rider of Grey Streak trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount missed the break.

B.M. Coen, rider of Power Over Me trained by J.P. Murtagh, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was bumped before the first bend.
