The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Caso Do Lago, trained by Edward Lynam, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be Post Race Normal.

N.G. McCullagh, rider of Caso Do Lago trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran flat.

311B Dundalk Stadium Light Up Your Night Hcap

J.A. Heffernan, rider of Gatamalata trained by Joseph G. Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled leaving the stalls.

311D Floodlit Friday Nights Apprentice H'cap

The Stewards interviewed G.J. Phillips, rider of Ningaloo Reef, winner, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion G.J. Phillips was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (a) in that he used his whip in front of the saddle in the forehand position, and Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive force, and having taken his good record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

311E(i) CrownePlaza Leading Jockey&Trainer H'cap (Division One)

The Stewards interviewed Ms Nicola McCarthy, authorised representative of Mr John Joseph Murphy, trainer of Smile Sweetly, concerning the request that their rider, J.M. Conneely carry 3lb overweight in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider and authorised representative concerned.
J.M. Conneely stated that he would have no problem riding at the correct weight but his allowed minimum riding weight is 8 stone 3 lbs.
Ms McCarthy stated this rider knows the horse well from riding her out at home and they wanted to claim off her. They were anxious that he could ride her as there was no other rider available who knew the filly, and could also claim off her.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request, noting the rider had already flagged that he may be 2lbs overweight, but referred the matter on to the Chief Executive of the Turf Club for further investigation.

The Stewards interviewed J.M. Conneely, rider of Smile Sweetly, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, in the presence of Ms Nicola McCarthy, authorised representative of John Joseph Murphy, trainer and master of J.M. Conneely. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion J.M. Conneely was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (g) in that he used his whip with his arm above shoulder height and Regulation 10 3 (b) in that he continued to use his whip when his chance of being placed had clearly gone, and having taken his good record and his inexperience into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

311E(ii) CrownePlaza Leading Jockey&Trainer H'cap (Division Two)

Joseph G. Murphy, trainer of Hawkswood (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge hung badly throughout this race

311F Ireland v England Stablestaff H'cap

The Stewards interviewed Ms Nicola McCarthy, authorised representative of Mr John Joseph Murphy, trainer of Sabaidee, concerning the request that their rider, DM Melia carry 3lb overweight in this race.
Evidence was heard from the rider and authorised representative concerned.
D.M Melia stated that he would have no problem riding at the correct weight but his allowed minimum riding weight is 7 stone 11 lbs.
Ms McCarthy stated they were keen to claim off this filly but with the horse carrying minimum weight they had difficulty getting someone who could claim off this low weight.
Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request, noting the rider had already flagged that he may be 2lbs overweight, but referred the matter on to the Chief Executive of the Turf Club for further investigation.

The Stewards interviewed D.M. Melia, rider of Sabaidee, unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, in the presence of Ms Nicola McCarthy, authorised representative of John Joseph Murphy, trainer of Sabaidee. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion D.M. Melia was in breach of regulation 10 3 (b) in that he used his whip when his chance of being placed had clearly gone, and having taken his inexperience and good record into account, they cautioned him accordingly.

311G Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk M'dn

The Stewards interviewed W.J. Lee, rider of Kentucky Woman, placed fourth, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion W.J. Lee was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive force and frequency, and having taken his good record into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays.
