238A Family Day Out M'dn H'dle

S.W. Flanagan, rider of Queen Of Thecastle, trained by David Harry Kelly, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount burst a blood vessel in running.

A.E. Lynch, rider of Specific Gravity (FR), trained by Adrian McGuinness, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount travelled well until making a mistake at the third last flight and emptied quickly from which point he did not apply any pressure.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Specific Gravity (FR), trained by Adrian McGuinness, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have an abnormal gait behind when examined post race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Queen Of Thecastle, trained by David Harry Kelly, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have burst blood vessels post race.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Apintforthedriver, trained by John O'Callaghan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have evidence of jarring in the distal portion of her off fore superficial digital flexor tendon.

D.N. Russell, rider of Apintforthedriver trained by John O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount finished lame.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Fiord Cottage, trained by Robert Murphy, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be injured behind post race.

Andrew J.McNamara, rider of Fiord Cottage trained by Robert Murphy, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount lost her action for a few strides and was pulled up but subsequently felt sound soon afterwards.

The Stewards fined John O. Clifford, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Kilcross Boy, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Kinneagh Cross, trained by Ronald O'Leary, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

The Stewards fined W.P. Mullins, trainer, €350 for lodging a passport in respect of Valerian Bridge, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order.

The Stewards received a report from Mr.P.L.Malone , Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr J.C. Barry , rider of Lizzies Way , weighed in at 2.5 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.
