The Stewards fined the following trainer in respect of their non-runner:-

David Harry Kelly, trainer of Meldrum Lad (Withdrawn by Order of the Stewards - not qualified) - €200

The Stewards authorised the following substitutions of riders at this meeting:

Mr R. Deegan rode Ms Jilly Maaye (reserve) , trained by John J.R.Foley (Race 2)

166B Indaver M'dn H'dle

G.N. Fox, rider of Its Now Or Never, trained by P. Fegan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount lugged in behind another horse on the turn before the home straight, causing him to clip a heel, stumble badly and unseat.

166D Panda H'dle

The Stewards interviewed R.M. Power, rider of Shield, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion R.M. Power was in breach of Regulation 10 4 in that he failed to give his mount time to respond, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

The Stewards interviewed D.J. Condon, rider of Clara Mc Cloud, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion D.J. Condon was in breach of Regulation 10 4 in that he failed to give his mount time to respond and Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he used his whip with excessive force, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 2 racedays.

166E(i) Martinstown Opportunity H'cap H'dle (Division One)

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Drive The Bus, trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be Post Race Normal.

The Stewards requested a report from W.J.Austin, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Routes Delight, winner, as compared with its most recent run at Wexford on 18th June, where she was pulled up.
The trainer reported that his charge may have resented the first time application of a tongue strap at Wexford.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted it's contents.

166E2 Martinstown Opportunity H'cap H'dle

Philip Fenton, trainer of Lady Geronimo, reported to the Office of the Governing Bodies on 14th July that his charge has had a wind operation since this run.
