164A Irish Stallion Farms EBF Med. Auct. M'dn

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Bad News Bear, trained by G.M.Lyons, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be clinically normal.

T.P. O'Shea, rider of Ducky Mallon, trained by Donal Kinsella, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung left and right in this race.

C.T. Keane, rider of Bad News Bear, trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount didn't handle the track.

164B Inter Vintners Pub Chall.Race Nite H'cap

C.D. Hayes, rider of Jackamo, trained by Kevin Prendergast, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled on the bend before the turn into the straight.

The Stewards interviewed Gearoid Patrick Brouder, rider of Rockin N Reelin (USA), unplaced, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion the rider was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (b) in that he had used his whip when his chance of winning or being placed had clearly gone, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.

164D Meath Farm Machinery H'cap

Gearoid Patrick Brouder, rider of Well Hello, trained by J.T.Gorman, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount suffered interference shortly after jumping from stalls and then lost her action on the bend before the turn into the straight.

The Stewards requested a report from J.Larkin, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Ariahey (USA), winner, as compared with its most recent run at Tipperary on 26th June, where she finished last of 15 runners.
The trainer reported that the filly had run well previous to Tipperary at Sligo on good ground, but at Tipperary the rain eased the ground to yielding, and he attributed any improvement in form to the better ground here today.
Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Stewards interviewed E.J. McNamara, rider of Ginger Genie, placed second, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion E.J. McNamara was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive force and frequency, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 3 racedays.

The Stewards interviewed K.P. Moriarty, rider of Byron Beauty, placed third, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned and from Mr H. Rogers, trainer representing T. Stack, trainer and master of K.P. Moriarty. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion the rider was in breach of Regulation 10 3 (f) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency, and having taken his record and his inexperience into account, they cautioned him accordingly.

164E City North H'cap

E.M. Hogan, trainer of All The Aces, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge never travelled on the ground and pulled a front shoe in running.

164F Fast Shipping Bellewstown H'cap H'd

The Stewards interviewed P. Carberry, rider of Xsquared, winner, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion P. Carberry was in breach of Regulation 10 4 in that he failed to give his mount time to respond, and having taken his record into account, they suspended him for 1 raceday.
